Atlas Copco Starts Construction of New Chinese Distribution Center

Today marks the start of Atlas Copco’s (STO:ATCOA)(STO:ATCOB) construction of a new distribution center in China. The facility, located in Nanjing, will strengthen the distribution of parts and consumables in South East Asia.

The construction of the 4 000 square meter facility, with the option to extend with a further 4 000 square meters, follows the strategy to strengthen Atlas Copco´s customer support in the South East Asia region. Customers will benefit from improvements in storage and shipping capabilities for spare parts and consumables. “The new distribution center shows our strong commitment to customers in the region, and is another step in our ambition to strongly develop the business and continue to be the customers’ first choice,” says Björn Rosengren, Business Area President Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique. The distribution center will supply spare parts and consumables for the Construction and Mining business area. The location of the distribution center is selected because of the logistical possibilities provided by the city of Nanjing, as well the proximity to the Groups production in the area. The total investment for establishing the Distribution Center is approximately MCNY 50 (MSEK 53).
