International Union of Architects Approve Whirlpool's Education Courses

AEC Daily announced today at the AIA Convention that Whirlpool has become the first manufacturer to have their courses approved by the International Union of Architects. (generally known by the French name's acronym: UIA)

The courses were registered by AEC Daily. As the first private organization to have their educational system recognized by UIA, AEC Daily is able to certify and register courses under UIA's Continuing Professional Development (CDP) program.

Whirlpool's continuing education will now be available to the 1.3 million architects represented by UIA's 124 member countries. The courses will provide the learners with continuing education credits under the reciprocal recognition of the UIA's CDP Quality Label.

"The technology revolution has demonstrated that geographical boundaries are a thing of the past. Designing a building from a California office for a construction project in Dubai is part of today's architectural markets" said Jeff Rice, President of the AEC Daily Corporation. "Given the realities of designing, we have now aligned ourselves with UIA to better equip our clients with an educational strategy that can reach the entire global architectural community."

The International Union of Architects was founded in Lausanne (Switzerland) on June 28, 1948, to unite the architects of the world. From the 27 delegations present at the founding assembly, the UIA has grown to encompass the key professional organisations of architects in 124 countries and territories, and now represents, through these organisations, more than 1,300,000 architects worldwide.

In representing the world community of architects and promoting their activities, the UIA works in co-operation with high-ranking organisations around the world. They are the only world organisation officially recognised in the field of architecture by leading intergovernmental institutions such as UNESCO: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, WHO: World Health Organisation, WTO: World Trade Organisation, and the IOC: International Olympic Committee.

AEC Daily currently has over 265 free courses that are recognized or approved by 17 different organizations and several new courses are added monthly. Each one meets or exceeds the educational requirement for most construction professionals in the world.
